You can also use the college's virtual LRC to access the library catalogue, online resources, subject guides and study skills information.

Virtual learning environment (VLE)

You'll have access to the online learning materials and tools on our Moodle VLE.

IT

You'll have access to the very latest computing technology and IT suites.

Creative facilities

Creative? Our facilities for performance and creative projects include industry standard theatres, an outdoor ampitheatre, recording studios, a community radio station on site, DJing booths, rehearsal rooms and editing suites.

You’ll want to work hard at your course but it’s also important to relax and enjoy yourself. As a student at The Manchester College you’re in a great position to do just that. Not only will you have the vibrant city of Manchester on your doorstep, you’ll also have access to a range of leisure facilities within the college. Don’t worry if the service you would like to use is not available on your campus – you’re welcome to enjoy the facilities at any other campus within The Manchester College.

Some of the facilities available to all students are:

Health and fitness facilities

Do you want to take part in team sports, work out in the gym or just unwind after a hard day at college? Our health and fitness facilities are open to all students and include fully equipped fitness suites, a spa with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room and an extensive football centre.

Health and fitness facilities are available at Moston, Nicholls, Northenden and Openshaw Campuses. Qualified sports staff are on hand to give support and advice.

Hairdressing, beauty and complementary therapies

Need a haircut but short on cash? Would a beauty treatment help you relax? Our Hair and Beauty Therapy department offers a range of services including hairdressing, nail services, makeup, barbering and facials. As a student, you can expect to pay much less than you would in a high street salon.

Hair and beauty therapy treatments are available at Moston, Northenden and Openshaw Campuses.

Food and drink

Wherever you are in College you’ll find good quality hot and cold food. All but one of our campuses have a refectory or coffee shop. The Centre for Music doesn’t have a refectory but is in the Northern Quarter of Manchester’s city centre – an area famous for good, affordable food and independent cafes.

You’ll also have the opportunity to sample the finest quality food and drink for a fraction of the usual cost at our training restaurants. Themed evenings provide our catering students with real life experience and provide you with great food in relaxed and comfortable surroundings.

Our training restaurants are:

Restaurant 141 (Fielden Campus)
The Restaurant at Ashley Lane (Moston Campus)
Bistro East (Openshaw Campus)
3rd Floor Restaurant (Wythenshawe Campus)
