Lisa Dale, 20, is a current student on the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising at The Manchester College. She has worked on live briefs for real clients as part of the course and is impressed with the industry-standard technology provided by the college.
‘My initial career ambition is to make it into the industry after I’ve completed my education. I would enjoy working in a studio environment rather than working freelance, especially at first, but there are many routes and paths to choose from.
‘I have a long-term ambition of teaching at degree level. I’ll need some experience in the industry first of course. Teaching sounds very rewarding.
We've pitched to real clients, including Mercedes Benz
‘The course allows me to work on hands on assignments and I am fortunate enough to have tutors who understand the difficulties of getting into the industry. I am provided with the best software for my work and great facilities to complete my assignments to a finished standard.
‘The tutors give us briefs for real clients. We’ve recently pitched our work to Mercedes Benz and a business consultancy called The High Growth Foundation. This has given me confidence in communicating effectively with clients.

‘My advice to future students would be to attend all classes. You can really benefit from each and every class. Use blogging sites to get your work and your name out there.’
