The Manchester College recognises that young people sometimes want more from college than just their academic course. We have a team of youth workers based at all our main centres who work with students in a relaxed and informal way. All our youth workers have experience of working with all kinds of young people and understand the issues which face young adults, both in college and in their lives outside college.
We are here to offer you opportunities to develop, not only academically but as a whole person during your time at The Manchester College. Youth work staff are involved in a range of activities across the college, so you might come across us in recreational areas, in tutorials, through the Student Council or during extracurricular activities like trips out, weekends away or working with you on specific projects. We will work with you in groups or individually to address anything that is of concern to you.
If you are worried about any aspect of college life, let us know and we can work with you to you resolve this. We can also help you settle into college, make new friends and, very importantly, enjoy yourself while you’re here.
So we look forward to meeting you during induction. You can always contact us through reception and we’ll hopefully see you around and about the campus.
