Mental health

How can we help you?

Before you start your course, you’ll be able to meet with a specialist support worker. They’ll talk to you about the support that might be useful to you.

We can:

  • give you a tour of the college
  • help you build your confidence and social skills
  • help you to be independent
  • work with your tutor and your care team, if you have one, to help keep stress and anxiety under control
  • work with your mental health support or care team outside college
  • give you advice about specialist groups in the community
  • give you advice on work and university
  • let you know about interesting college activities
  • support and advise you on anything else you need help with

How can you get advice and support?

  • tell us about your mental health difficulty on your application or enrolment form
  • if you’re on a course, ask your tutor or student services team to refer you to the disability service
  • email us at disabilityservice@themanchestercollege.ac.uk
