What are the aims of this course?
This is an exciting course which offers the opportunity to expand skills and knowledge within digital media. The course is designed to provide an understanding of key industry software, preparing you for further education or employment within one of the many specialist branches within digital media. After completing the course you will have extended skills within the Adobe Creative Suite package, coupled with a in-depth understanding of the design and production skills demanded by an ever-growing industry.

What qualifications do I need to do this course?
Five GCSEs at grade A-C, including Maths and English, or a BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) with a Merit grade.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through project work completed throughout the year. Your final assessment will include a portfolio presentation, an exhibition of work produced and an externally assessed major project.
Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
On successful completion you will be awarded a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Interactive Media). You will also have the opportunity to complete Functional Skills that will help develop important skills - like communication, team working, presentation, and problem solving.
What will I be able to go on to do after I've completed this course?
Successful completion of the course can lead directly to a wide range of higher education courses, such as HNDs, foundation degrees and degrees. Opportunities are normally within digital production and allow you to specialise within the field. Advice on opportunities for further study will be provided during your course.
What are the career opportunities?
The course will prepare you for a wide range of careers within the media production field, including concept artistry, web design, graphic design, animation, video and film production and illustration. Specialist careers advice will be available from our Advice and Guidance Team throughout your course.
