Fees and finance - school leavers

If you're age 16-18 you won't have to pay any course or exam fees at The Manchester College.

There may be some things you’ll need to pay for, like travel or childcare.

You could get up to £20 per week to come to college!

The Manchester College has a School Leaver Award fund (SLA). This is money to help with the costs of studying for those who need it most. If you’re eligible for the payment you can spend it on:

  • travel
  • books
  • stationery
  • library fees
  • lunches
  • anything else to help you study!

SLA is paid for 36 weeks of the year and is based on your attendance, behaviour, effort and household income.

To find out if you could qualify for SLA, please contact us on 0161 203 2100 or at slt@themanchestercollege.ac.uk
