What are the aims of this course?

This practical and work-based course builds on your knowledge of basic science and is ideal if you want a career in the field of medical sciences or if you wish to study medical science at university. It introduces you to a wide range of topics in medical sciences, allowing you to apply medical techniques and use a range of science skills to solve problems and conduct investigations. Practical assignments are based on typical scenarios encountered by medical science technicians in industry.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Medical Science). You will also have the opportunity to complete Functional Skills that will help develop important skills - like communication, team working, presentation, and problem solving.
