Souper! Film and TV students' prize-winning commercial.

A commercial film by students and graduates of The Manchester College has scooped fourth prize in an international competition. The competition was run by Mofilm with Campbells and BFI London Film Festival. The brief was to create a 30-90 second TV commercial for Campbell's Soup.

The film, Campbell’s Journey, was written by Lucy Lincoln and Amy McIntyre, both students at The Manchester College. Campbell’s Journey tells the heart-warming story of a boy who enjoys Campbell’s Soup as a baby, child, teenager, adult and then as a granddad with his wife and grandson.

Lucy said: ‘Amy and I wrote the idea together but it was Amy’s amazing insight and knowledge of shots and Alex Hollowbread’s great operating skills that made the idea come to life on screen. We had the support and dedication of a crew of current and past students.

We were kindly allowed to use college equipment after speaking to our tutors. One of the tutors has experience with commercial production so he was a fantastic help.

‘Some of the actors are family of the crew or family friends and some were cast through a casting website. We were incredibly lucky to get such a great set of people to work for this project. Working with the children was entertaining, unpredictable and a lot of fun!
