Sixth formers get a taste of uni-level IT courses at The Manchester College

Sixth form IT students at The Manchester College were given a taste of what to expect if they stay on to take higher education (HE) courses. 50 students enjoyed an information day with course taster sessions.

The Manchester College offers a range of IT courses at university and degree level as well as school leaver and adult courses. If you study with us after leaving school, you can also choose to stay on at the college to study for a degree or other university level course.

Students at the taster day saw the fantastic facilities at our One Central Park campus, then went on a tour of the building, got information on courses and asked questions. They took part in taster sessions for the courses that most interested them.

The students were impressed with our facilities and had fun

After the taster sessions, the students had lunch in One Café, where they mingled with tutors and could ask final questions. The morning came to a close with a prize draw for an iPod Touch. The prize went to Raja Rehman Aslam who is studying for a National Diploma at our Nicholls Campus.

Co-organiser Neil Raynor said: ‘The students were impressed with our facilities and had fun. We intend to run this event again next year.’

The students can also take group tutorials to help them with their UCAS applications in November.
