Graduation 2011

The Manchester College celebrated the success of its university level graduates at a grand ceremony at Openshaw Campus this July. 160 students graduated on the day, with 250 guests coming to support them. The new graduates and their guests enjoyed words of wisdom from three guest speakers and some students won special awards.

Our graduands (students about to graduate) looked great in their smart clothes and academic gowns. Many graduands had official photos taken in their finery before the ceremony, where they officially graduated in front of their families and friends.

The Manchester College would like to congratulate the following graduates who received awards for excellence:

Alex Dumitrescu - Foundation Degree in Events Management
Faith Holgate - Foundation Degree in Graphics
Bethany McCarthy - Foundation Degree in Public Service
Anndrea Chow - HND Business
Zahid Aziz - Student Support Award
Darren Haywood - HNC Construction

Guest speakers were Peter Fell, a governor from The Manchester College and also the Director for Regional and Economic Affairs at the University of Manchester, Huw Morris, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Salford and Jack Carney, Deputy Principal at the Manchester College.
