College restaurant's gourmet triumph

The Manchester College has four training restaurants, providing a realistic training environment for our students and affordable, high quality food to the public. Our gallery of images from Gourmet Evening at Restaurant 141 offers a taste of the mouth-watering events you can expect at the training restaurants this year.

Gourmet Evening (also known as Grand Finale menu) is the highlight of the restaurant calendar. The final menus of the academic year see all three training restaurants celebrate the achievements of their students. It’s an opportunity for students to showcase their talents, either at front of house or in the kitchen.

Restaurant 141 was packed with 48 diners for its Gourmet Evening this summer. Diners enjoyed a fantastic ten-course menu of gastronomic delights and professional and attentive waiting staff.

The evening also celebrated the achievements of two students at the college who won gold in the NECTA awards (North East Culinary Trade Association).

The Manchester College training restaurants host a range of themed events throughout the academic year, from classics with a twist to Christmas dinner.
