Congratulations to Becci Hough and Aaron Welby, apprentices at The Manchester College, who made it through to the judges' houses in The X Factor competition as Girl V Boy. Becci is doing an apprenticeship in beauty therapy, while Aaron is doing an apprenticeship in hairdressing.
Becci and Aaron left the competition after performing at Tulisa Contostavlos’ house for a place in the final 16. Although the duo narrowly missed out at this tough stage of the competition they’re stars in our eyes here at The Manchester College!
The duo are more than just singing partners – they’ve been a couple for five years and are engaged. In an interview on The Xtra Factor, Becci said that they met while performing in a school musical and had their first kiss on stage.
Tulisa looked proud of us
Girl V Boy went through the to ‘bootcamp’ stage of the competition with three out of four votes from the X Factor judges. Judge, Gary Barlow, said that the two ‘sing really well’. Aaron described Girl V Boy’s sound as ‘anything with a good beat that makes you feel good’.
