Automotive department buys new heavy vehicle

A new vehicle has arrived at The Manchester College’s Openshaw campus, for use in the Automotive department’s heavy vehicle section. The department bought the vehicle to replace one that had reached the end of its life.

The vehicle is a DAF XF 95 with full electronic braking system, electronic air suspension system, full common rail fuel compliant to Euro 4 regulations and a semi automatic ZF gearbox.

The body and paint section have fully renovated the vehicle to a high standard and it was put into use in March 2011. It has proved a huge success with tutors and learners in the heavy vehicle section.
