How to get there
By bus
Stoke Railway Station to Werrington – catch bus number 25 to Hanley Bus Station from the bus stop opposite the station. This goes every 10 minutes during the day and the trip to Hanley Bus Station takes about 10 minutes. From Hanley Bus Station catch a bus number 32 from stand 10. This goes every 20 minutes during the day and the trip to Werrington takes about 13 minutes. Long distance services run into Hanley Bus Station.
By train
The nearest main train station is Stoke on Trent.
By car
From the M6 North and South – Join the M6 and leave at Junction 15 (signposted Stoke on Trent). At the roundabout take the second exit onto Queensway – A500 – and enter Stoke on Trent. After the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A50 passing Britannia Stadium on your right. Exit the A50 at the fifth exit (signposted Meir). At the roundabout take the first exit – A520 (signposted Leek). Continue forward entering Weston Coyney. Keep going straight until reaching Cellarhead cross roads, then turn left onto Cellarhead Road, entering Werrington. Continue until you see signs for the prison.
From the M1 North and South – Join M1 and leave at Junction 23A, then merge onto the A453 (sign posted A453, Stoke). At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A453 (signposted Nottingham, Derby). At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A50 (signposted Stoke, Derby).Continue forward at junction 2 (signposted Uttoxeter, Stoke on Trent). At the next roundabout take the second exit continuing on the A50 (signposted M6, Stoke). At roundabout take the second exit, continuing on the A50 (signposted M6, Stoke). At the next roundabout take the second exit onto the A50. Continue forward until next roundabout when you take the first exit onto the A50 (signposted Stoke on Trent).Continue on the A50 taking the third exit off the A50 after the round about entering Meir. Once off the A50 you will approach a roundabout, take the third exit onto the A520 (signposted Leek). Continue forward entering Weston Coyney, and keep going straight until reaching Cellarhead cross roads. Keep going straight until reaching Cellarhead cross roads, then turn left onto Cellarhead Road, entering Werrington. Continue until you see signs for the prison.
