Local area

You couldn’t be better placed to immerse yourself in the world of music! The Centre for Music is in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, an area well known for creativity and alternative culture. There are at least ten legendary music venues within minutes of the campus, including Band on the Wall, Night and Day Café and Ruby Lounge. Fans of jazz and blues can see live acts most nights at Matt and Phreds.

The Northern Quarter is well known for its independent record shops, many of which buy and sell rare music in different formats. Shops such as Vinyl Exchange and Piccadilly Records are a haven for DJs.
