Offer letter

Offers for academic courses are made by the course tutors. This usually takes around two weeks. If your application is successful we will send you a letter offering you a place on the course. In the letter, we will ask you to pay a deposit.

Please be aware that the offer letter will not help you apply for a student visa. You will need your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) - Visa letter to apply for a visa (see below).

Deposit

We will include the college’s bank details in your offer letter. You can pay your deposit by:

  • electronic funds transfer
  • cheque
  • banker’s draft

Deposits are usually non-refundable. If a visa refusal is wholly due to an error or omission on the part of The Manchester College we will make a full refund of your deposit, subject to the approval of the Vice Principal (International).

We can only make a refund if:

  • the visa refusal is wholly due to an error or omission on the part of The Manchester College
  • you can demonstrate that you have met all UK Border Agency visa requirements
  • you can demonstrate that you have acted in an honest and timely manner

In exceptional circumstances we may be able to make a discretionary refund, subject to a £250 administration charge.

CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) - Visa letter

When your deposit is paid we will send you a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) - Visa letter and a receipt for the deposit. You will now be able to apply for a UK student visa.

You must keep the original receipt for your deposit in a safe place.

Apply for your visa

Please see the UK Border Agency ‘Studying in the UK’ webpage for information on applying for a visa.

Pay your fees in full at enrolment

We will ask you to pay the full remaining balance of your tuition fees at enrolment.

If you don't pay the full balance you will not be allowed to complete your enrolment.

If you:

  • have not been ordinarily resident in the UK / EU for three years,
  • and /or are subject to immigration control

we will ask you to pay full cost fees.
