What's the Video Production and Post Production course about?

This course, validated by the University of Bolton, has been developed in response to technology changes in the production of the moving image in areas, such as journalism, film making, corporate video, documentary and cinema, and the development of additional delivery platforms such as the 4th screen of mobile devices. It is also a progression route for students who have taken National Diplomas in E-media, Film, TV Production, and Multimedia. This course provides students with a sound foundation for a range of careers in the video production and post production industry, whilst developing the personal and attitudinal skills essential for success in working and further academic life. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and the latest industry software to develop and demonstrate production skills.

Subjects covered include: - Ideas development - Digital graphics - Business skills - Copyright and digital asset management - Video editing and media production - Digital sound production skills - Post production - Digital cinematography

Assessment is through project work across a range of units. Final assessment includes a portfolio presentation and critique of work produced.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

This foundation degree will enable students to progress to the second or third year of a degree at the University of Bolton or enter the world of work.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Applicants should possess an A Level, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or an equivalent level 3 qualification with art or design content. Qualifications should be accompanied by a portfolio of creative work. Minimum UCAS tariff points required: 120. Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity may also apply.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Video Production and Post Production course?
