How and when to enrol

It’s easy to enrol on your course at The Manchester College.

Students with conditional/provisional offers

If you have been given a conditional offer of a place on a course, you will receive a letter inviting you to an appointment at the college’s enrolment sessions.

The letter will include details about your appointment (when and which campus) and the information that you need to bring with you.

If you haven’t yet applied for a course or received a conditional offer, you should contact the Schools Liaison Team to find out what you need to do next.

What do I need to bring with me to enrolment?

We accept cash, cheques, debit/credit card payment or you can pay in instalments.

If your employer is paying

If your employer or a sponsor is paying your fees, payment can be made in full at enrolment by cheque (payable to The Manchester College). Alternatively, an invoice can be raised – please provide a written letter from your company or sponsor at enrolment, indicating that they accept liability for your fees and including details of who to invoice.

If you are paying

If you are paying your own fees, for most courses you can spread the cost of the course over an instalment plan. The first instalment will be due at enrolment and subsequent instalments will be paid by monthly direct debit so you will need your bank details at enrolment. A small charge is made for this service on any balance after the initial payment has been made. In addition the college can take full payment debit or credit card. Please note that tuition fees must be paid by the end of the first term of your course.

The instalment plan is not available for some courses, such as some professional programmes.

If you receive benefits

The Manchester College may be able to waive your tuition fees on certain courses if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits

  • Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA)
  • Income Support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit (single occupancy does not apply)
  • Financial support for asylum seekers who have been in the UK for six months or more

If you are entitled to fee remission, you will need to provide proof of this at enrolment, with your payment book, your Giro (or a photocopy), proof of payment into a bank account, or an appropriate letter from the agency awarding you the benefit.

If you require further information on help with finance, you can discuss it with your tutor at enrolment or call the Guidance Service on 0800 068 8585.

Arrangements for enrolment will depend on your course and your own circumstances. Information will be provided during the application process.
