What's the Photography course about?

This course uses Photoshop as both a method of creating accurately retouched images, montages and creative images assembled from a variety of sources. It covers the use of both cameras and scanners as methods of inputting images. As part of the course you will develop a portfolio for either commercially based images or for use as an expressive tool. You will look at various presentation methods both on paper and digitally. Concepts developed in the previous units will be the foundation for this portfolio.
The course is divided into the following sections: - Selecting, preparing and using camera equipment - Using a digital camera - Using white balance and resolution, - Using filters and effects. - Using Photoshop
You will produce a notebook and portfolio for assessment.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

On successful completion of this course you will have opportunity to progress onto NVQ Level 3 National Diploma or Lens Based Media Foundation course.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Applicants do not need to have previous experience of Photoshop but it it would be desirable if applicants could use a PC or Mac.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Photography course?

You will gain a NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Photography
