What's the CCNA 4 - Designing and Supporting Computer Networks course about?
This course provides broad knowledge of hardware and operating system technologies and includes practical experience of installation, configuration, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and basic networking. Designed with the needs of employers in mind, the qualification offers candidates the chance to take vendor specific certification with CISCO.
Semester 4 incorporates:
Reviewing the concepts of network design
- Gathering network requirements
- Characterising the existing network
- Identifying application impacts on network design
- Creating the network design
- IP addressing in the network design
- Prototyping the WAN
- Preparing the proposal
The course is assessed by online examination and via a practical demonstration/assignment.
What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?
On successful completion of the course you could take the Cisco exams and apply for further study at level 4 or above, including, the Microsoft qualifications, or CCNP, CCSP or a foundation degree in Computers or Security. The course could also lead to career opportunities as a business analyst, computer hardware engineer, computer network engineer, project manager or systems analyst.
