What's the CCNA 3 - Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise course about?
This course provides broad knowledge of hardware and operating system technologies and includes practical experience of installation, configuration, diagnostics, preventive maintenance and basic networking. Designed with the needs of employers in mind, the qualification offers candidates the chance to take vendor specific certification with CISCO.
Semester 3 incorporates:
- Networking in the enterprise
- Exploring the enterprise network infrastructure
- Switching in an enterprise network
- Addressing in an enterprise network
- Routing with a distance vector protocol
- Routing with a link-state protocol
- Implementing enterprise WAN links
- Filtering traffic using access control lists
- Troubleshooting an enterprise network
The course is delivered through lectures and hands-on workshops and it is assessed by online examination and assessment of practical ability via a practical demonstration/assignment.
What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?
On successful completion of the course there are further opportunities to continue with semester 4 and for study at level 4 or above, including, the Microsoft qualification, CCNP, CCSP or a foundation degree in computers or security. The course could also lead to career opportunities as a business analyst, computer hardware engineer, computer network engineer, project manager or systems analyst.

Applicants should have completed CCNA semesters 1 and 2.

There is no requirement to undertake an assessment with this skills based course. All delegates will receive a certificate of skills validation from the Computing Networking Technology Centre of Vocational Excellence and from Cisco Systems Inc.
