What's the 3D Computer Aided Design course about?

This course is aimed at learners intending to work or already working with CAD. It will develop the skills and knowledge needed to use draughting and design software packages.
The course covers the following: - Apply appropriate commands to set the 3D modelling environment - Create and use working planes at any required position within 3D space - Define and use co-ordinate points at any position within 3D space - Apply appropriate commands to construct the whole or part of a 3D model using the best available method - Apply appropriate commands to modify 3D solid objects - Apply appropriate commands to perform 3D operations on existing objects - Apply appropriate commands to manipulate a 3D model - Apply appropriate commands to view 3D models in a variety of display formats - Print/plot/export 3D models
The assessment includes two practical assignments and a multiple choice test.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Learners will need to have completed the CGLI Certificate in Computer Aided Design at Level 2 or the AutoCAD 2D City & Guilds scheme 4351-011.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the 3D Computer Aided Design course?

You will be awarded a CGLI 4353 Certificate in Computer Aided Design at level 3.
