What's the Work-based Horticulture course about?

This course is aimed at horticulture professionals who have worked in the industry for some time. You will already have gained plenty of experience, and you might already supervise others or manage an area of land. This course will enable you move into a more senior role or further study or even enter into self-employment.

The qualification can be gained via different pathways. The pathway you choose will depend on the type of work you currently undertake.

You will complete three core units:
- Estimating and programming resource requirements for landscaping
- Promoting, monitoring and maintaining health, safety and security of the workplace
- Managing your own resources
- Plus some additional units from your chosen pathway

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

This course could lead on to management level studies or management/supervisory positions within the horticulture sector.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Applicants should have completed a level 2 qualification in horticulture/landscaping or have a significant amount of experience gained from employment within the horticulture sector.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Work-based Horticulture course?

You will be awarded the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture (Landscaping).
