What's the TUC Union Reps Stage 1 course about?

The Manchester College is an accredited provider of TUC Education courses for union reps. Stage 1 is the first part of TUC training for workplace union reps and stewards.

The course helps reps to:
- Understand the role of the union rep
- Find information about member's rights
- Develop skills and confidence in the union rep role
- Introduction to employment law
- Understanding organisations
- Representing members

The course is assessed by portfolio and tutor assessment.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

On successful completion you can go on to the Union Reps Stage 2 (Stepping Up) course in addition to other TUC programmes.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

You must be authorised by your organisation to attend the course.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the TUC Union Reps Stage 1 course?

On completion of the course you will be awarded the NOCN Level 1 Certificate for Trade Union Representatives (Stage 1).
