The aim of the programme is to help you to develop and improve your secretarial/office skills and job prospects through study that leads to a recognised qualification. The course is made up of eight units to the value of 37 credits.
You can study the following modules:
- Text processing (core unit)
- Legal text processing (level 1)
- Audio transcription (level 1)
- Word processing (level 2)
- Document presentation (level 2)
- Mail merge (level 2)
- Business presentations (level 2)
- Speed keying (level 1)
All of the units will be externally assessed by examinations set and marked by OCR.
After you have passed the OCR Level 2 Diploma to can progress to the OCR Level 3 Diploma in Text Processing, the ILEX Legal Secretaries Certificate or another computer course. This course is ideal if you are working in an office and would like to enhance your career opportunities, or if you would like to start work in an office.
There are no formal entry requirements. The course is suitable for beginners or those with experience wishing to improve their existing skills. There will be an initial assessment and interview to establish if students are capable of achieving this qualification.
You will be awarded an OCR Level 2 Diploma in Text Processing (Business Professional).
As the definition of full time and part time can vary from course to course, please check with the tutor as to the exact number of hours study each week this course will entail.
