What's the Taxi Knowledge course about?

This course has been designed to study the topics covered in the Hackney knowledge test set by the Manchester City Council in preparation to gaining a Hackney Badge.

Areas covered on the course include:
- Districts in Greater Manchester
- Area locations
- Compellable areas
- Finding locations in the A-Z
- Using a Greater Manchester street atlas
- Routes from one location to another
- Byelaws
- Customer service

The course is delivered in the classroom with ongoing assessment.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

This course will prepare you to sit the knowledge test at Manchester City Council in order to gain a taxi badge. You can then progress onto an NVQ Level 2 in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Taxi Knowledge course?

Upon successful completion of this course you will be prepared to sit the Hackney knowledge test set by the Manchester City Council.
