This course is aimed at secretarial/administrative staff at all levels who need practical training in minute taking.
The course covers the following:
- The role of the minute taker and the purpose of minutes
- Develop and use the agenda
- Taking accurate minutes
- Transcribing the minutes
- Presenting minutes concisely, clearly and in an appropriate style
The course is delivered through group discussion, demonstration and practical activities. The course activities are designed to impart skills and knowledge by having participants work through real-life examples and scenarios.
If you are working in an office or administrative role, this course will extend your range of skills. We offer a number of one day courses for those who work in administration, including Presentation Skills, The Effective Administrator and Written Communication to name just a few.
This course has been developed for those that are new to their role with little experience of taking minutes at meetings, or those who want an opportunity to reassess their minute writing skills.
This is a short course and does not lead to a formal qualification.
As the definition of full time and part time can vary from course to course, please check with the tutor as to the exact number of hours study each week this course will entail.
