This two part course is ideal for any person that wants to learn basic Spanish and is ideal for complete beginners and/or learners who have a very basic knowledge of Spanish. This 15 week course will enable you to communicate in the chosen language and to read and write simple language structures for immediate social or professional use. The courses will be essentially topic based, and will deal with vocabulary for everyday situations. Please note, this course will run subject to demand.
Areas covered on the Part A course include:
- Pronunciation
- Alphabet characters
- Numbers
- Days of the week
- Months of the year
- Simple linking of words
- Agreement /disagreement
- Asking and responding to simple questions
- Personal information
The course is assessed via continuous assessment.
On completion you can progress to Spanish for Beginners (Part B) which is the second stage in the beginners languages programme. The course is intended to bridge the gap between beginners and GCSE and prepare you with subject specific vocabulary and basic grammar needed for the GCSE level.
No previous qualifications are required, although you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary ability and commitment to successfully complete the course.
This course does not lead to a formal qualification but candidates that complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance.
As the definition of full time and part time can vary from course to course, please check with the tutor as to the exact number of hours study each week this course will entail.
