What's the Plastering course about?

This course is designed to be part of a package of training for people employed or unemployed intending to become plasterers.

The following areas will be covered:
- Use and safety of scaffolding and ladders
- Preparing a variety of surfaces for plastering
- Preparing materials for different techniques
- Applying materials to walls, ceilings, etc.
- Producing fibrous materials for casting and fixing

The Diploma is assessed on practical assignments, unit end tests and an online exam.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

In addition to becoming employed as plasterers, many students become self-employed or progress towards careers as technicians and supervisors in the building industry. Once students become employed in the plastering industry they can go on to study for NVQ Level 2 in Plastering.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

No formal qualifications are required, but a reasonable proficiency in communication, arithmetic and manual skills is an advantage.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Plastering course?

Successful students are awarded a Construction Skills Diploma in Plastering at Level 2.
