This course is designed for employees who wish to undertake such training for their own vocational progression and also to allow the employer to meet the requirement of health and safety regulations.
Please note, this course can be delivered on client premises and group rates are available on request.
On completion delegates will be able to:
- Quote legislation and guidance information relating to the safe use of ladders, steps and trestles
- Demonstrate the safe methods of carrying ladders, steps and trestles
- Carry out a ladder, step and trestle inspection
- State the procedures for reporting a defect in ladders, steps and trestles
- Erect a ladder, step and trestle in a safe manner
- State various ways to anchor a ladder
- Recognise the safety factors involved when using ladders, steps and trestles
Assessment is through a short answer examination paper.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
On completion delegates will be awarded a college certificate.
