What's the irtec Service Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle Trailer) - Training and Assessment course about?

This course offers a two hour pre-assessment training session on legislation and current government standards in the heavy vehicle and bus and coach maintenance industry. This will be followed by five irtec practical assessments and an online test.

The assessment then focuses on:
- Trailer wheel bearings
- Trailer chassis auxiliary systems
- Trailer electrical systems
- Trailer suspension systems

You will complete five 45 minute practical assessments and an online test.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

After completing this assessment you could progress to the Irtec Advanced Technician assessment.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

Applicants should hold an industry relevant level 2 qualification or have two years' industry experience.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the irtec Service Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle Trailer) - Training and Assessment course?

Upon successful completion of the assessment you will be awarded the irtec Service Maintenance Technician Licence valid for five years and entry onto the irtec register of accredited technicians.
