What's the irtec Service Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle and Bus and Coach) - Assessment course about?

This assessment proves current competence in either the heavy vehicle or bus and coach industry.

The assessment focuses on:
- Braking systems
- Engine electrical systems
- Engine mechanical systems
- Wheel alignment and steering systems
- Hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Online assessment on all the above

You will complete five 45 minute practical assessments and an online test.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

After completing this assessment you could progress to the irtec Advanced Technician assessment.
This assessment will help you develop personal and professional skills and prove professional competence. Candidates need to be working in the industry in order to apply for this course.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

You will need an industry relevant level 2 qualification or two years' industry experience.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the irtec Service Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle and Bus and Coach) - Assessment course?

Upon successful completion of the assessment you will be awarded the irtec Service Maintenance Technician Licence valid for five years and entry onto the irtec register of accredited technicians.
