What's the Holiday Italian course about?

This one day Saturday course is designed for those with a limited amount of time and who want to learn the basics in order to be able to get by on holiday. The content is centered on topics that you will encounter during your holiday.

This course is available in the following languages: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish, Portuguese and Greek.

Areas covered include:
- forming basic phrases
- using key phrases on everyday vocabulary
- understanding simple numbers, date, time
- ordering food & drink in a café or restaurant
- making simple requests
- responding to simple questions or instruction
- recognising signs in shops
- some cultural tips

There is no formal assessment for this course.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

On completion of this course you will be able to have a basic conversation in the target language. You can progress to the Beginners Language course and/or Getting Ready for GCSE course. The Getting ready for GCSE course is intended to bridge the gap between beginners and GCSE and is ideal for those people that want to progress to GCSE level qualification.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

No previous qualifications are required.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Holiday Italian course?

This is a short course and does not lead to any formal qualifications but candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
