The aim of this course is to train candidates on modern canbus, multiplexing and most systems used in modern heavy vehicles, buses and coaches.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Developments, principles, and operation analysis of early systems
- Introduction to modern advanced canbus systems which will include looking at the system layout of chassis manufacturer and bodybuilder canbus systems
- Analysis of the integration and possible conflicts that could arise from the integration of the chassis manufacturer and body builder canbus systems
- Fault diagnosis and repair using computer based diagnostic equipment, parameter reading, analysing data and explanation of consequences if computer equipment is incorrectly used
The course is assessed via an online test.
On successful completion of this course students could go on to study our Engine Management Systems or Advanced Braking Systems short courses.
You should be working in the heavy vehicle or bus and coach industry.
You will be awarded a college certificate. The course is accredited by the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) so is recognised as a CPD course.
