What's the General Construction Operations course about?

The aim of this programme is to provide students with broad ranging skills for building and civil engineering site working.

Students will cover the following:
- Handle and store resources
- Operate plant machinery
- Drainage and service ducts
- Concrete to various structures
- Flexible paving
- Provide for and maintain security in the workplace
- Contribute to health and safety in the workplace

The course will be taught via practical work with underpinning knowledge for skills in building and civil engineering site work. Assessment is continuous.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

After completing this course, students can progress on to an NVQ Level 3 in General Construction Operations.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

This NVQ is a work-oriented qualification and is suitable for those who are employed in a related role; a minimum of three years' relevant experience is required.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the General Construction Operations course?

Students will be awarded a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in General Construction Operations.
