A meeting should be a vital opportunity to exchange ideas and information, reach decisions and gain commitment to objectives and plans. All too often, however, meetings deteriorate into `talking shops' where very little is actually achieved. This course introduces the planning and leadership skills needed to make a meeting dynamic and worthwhile.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Define the purpose of the meeting
- Plan the meeting: place, time, participants, etc to achieve the desired outcomes
- Prepare and use agenda
- Develop the necessary skills for leading the meeting
- Participate and contribute fully to meetings
A hands-on approach is taken during this course. The exercises are designed to impart relevant skills and knowledge by having participants work through real-life examples and scenarios.
We offer a range of management courses from ILM awards and certificates to foundation degrees and the Professional Diploma in Management Studies. We also have an extensive range of short courses for managers and professionals to complement this course.
This course is aimed at both those who lead and those who participate in meetings.
No formal qualifications are awarded.
As the definition of full time and part time can vary from course to course, please check with the tutor as to the exact number of hours study each week this course will entail.
