The aim of this JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) approved course is to educate PCV and LGV drivers about the dangers of alcohol and drugs. This is a CPC Accredited course and can be used towards drivers' CPC, and the driver's attendance will be registered with the DSA towards their 35 hours periodic training requirement.
The course covers the following:
- The scale of the problem
- The drinking culture in the UK
- Drink and drugs in the workplace
- Group discussions
To achieve full CPC accreditation, you must combine this course with any of the following 3.5 hour modules:
- Manual Handling
- Dealing with Emergencies
- Basic First Aid
- Daily Vehicle Checks & Accident Reporting
- PCV Regulations
You will be taught in the classroom via demonstration and discussion.

This course is aimed at LGV and PCV drivers.
This is a Jaupt accredited course and can be used towards the Driver's CPC. Drivers' attendance will be registered with the DSA towards their 35 hours periodic training requirement.
As the definition of full time and part time can vary from course to course, please check with the tutor as to the exact number of hours study each week this course will entail.
