This course is designed to enable you to obtain a fully accredited qualification which is nationally recognised and allows opportunities for self development. This is a work-based course which focuses on achieving occupational competency in the area of cleaning building interiors. You will be taught using a combination of open learning materials and workplace tutorial visits.
We offer a wide range of units, from which six units must be studied:
- Deal with routine waste
- Health and safety
- Working as a member of a team/working individually
- Cleaning internal surfaces and areas
- Cleaning external surfaces and areas
- Cleaning toilets and washrooms manually
- Cleaning glazed surfaces and facades
- Cleaning and maintaining soft floors and furnishings
- Cleaning, maintaining and protecting hard floors
- Communicating effectively with customers
You will be assessed through the completion of workbooks and practical assessments.
This course can lead to a number of employment opportunities, including supervisory and caretaking posts, and it also allows progression on to a level 3 qualification.
No formal qualifications are necessary, although you will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary enthusiasm and commitment to successfully complete the course and you must already be working as a cleaner.
You will be awarded a level 2 Cleaning and Support Services Certificate by City & Guilds.
