In this course, students will learn how to create an efficient and expandable enterprise network. Students will also learn how to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure equipment.
Topics include
- Configuration of EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS
- BGP routing protocols
- Multicast routing, IPv6, and DHCP configuration
The course is delivered via blended learning, which comprises lectures with on-screen demos and Cisco academy curriculum material with hands on lab exercises. You will be assessed on practical lab activities and a portfolio of work that you will build up.
On completion of further units students may progress to Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) status. In addition there are progression routes into NVQ level 4 courses and graduate apprenticeships. Career opportunities exist in the areas of systems administration and management in small to medium sized IT infrastructures. There are also possibilities of moving on to one of our foundation degrees in computer network management, network security or system support.
Applicants will be required to have CCNA status experience of network administration and management is preferred. Students must have prior experience of configuring Cisco routers.
This course does not lead to a recognised vocational qualification.
