What's the Business Basics course about?

This course is designed for individuals who are working or thinking of working in a customer service environment. It aims to increase the confidence and abilities of those starting out in an office environment, helping them to be effective and efficient in their new role.

The course covers the following:
- Making a good impression; improve your image and develop basic communication skills
- How to prepare email and basic written communications
- Developing good telephone techniques
- Enhancing own listening skills
- How to build good relationships at work

A hands-on approach is taken during this course. The exercises are designed to impart relevant skills and knowledge by having participants work through real-life examples and scenarios.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

When you have completed this course there are a number of opportunities for further study, including Business Administration NVQ Level 2 or Customer Service NVQ Level 2.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

This course is designed for anyone who is new to an office environment, such as young people or graduates, or anyone returning to work after a long break.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Business Basics course?

This course does not lead to any formal qualification.
