What's the Beginners IT course about?

This course is designed for people who have very little knowledge of computing. It will help to develop your IT skills so that you can help your children with their homework, be more organised and improve your job prospects.

You will learn how to do the following things
- Start up and closing down correctly
- Manage folders and files
- Set up your own email account
- Search the Internet
- Create a basic document in Microsoft Word 2007
- Create a basic workbook using Microsoft Excel 2007
- Basic troubleshooting

Please note, this course will run subject to demand.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

When you have successfully completed this course you will be able to develop your skills further as you will have the necessary skills to gain entry on to other short IT courses and/or enrol on one of our ITQ courses.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

No previous qualifications are required just the enthusiasm to complete the course.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Beginners IT course?

This does not lead to a formal qualification but you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
