This course leads to an NVQ Diploma in Barbering, which is a work-related qualification that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to provide barbering services within a barbers' shop, hairdressing salon or similar establishment.
The course covers the following:
- Health and safety
- Give clients a positive impression
- Advise and consult with clients
- Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
- Cut facial hair to shape
- Cut hair using barbering techniques
- Dry hair into shape
- Change hair colour
- Provide scalp massage
The course is assessed by a range of methods including practical assessments, assignments and written tests.
On successful completion of the NVQ Level 2 in Barbering you can go on to do the NVQ Level 3 in Barbering.
Applicants will need to be working in a hair salon/barber's shop.
You will be awarded an NVQ Diploma in Barbering at Level 2 by City & Guilds.
