What's the Arabic course about?

The course is a fast track A Level course which incorporates both AS and A2 Level in one year.

This fast track A Level course has been designed to give you a profound understanding of your chosen language. Not only will you know more about the mechanics of the language, like grammar and vocabulary, but also about how people live and use language on a day to day basis.

The course covers a variety of study areas from environmental to cultural issues and either a literature, film study or topic based component.

Please note, if you're not quite ready for A Level study, we also offer AS, GCSE and beginner classes in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish. Call 0800 068 8585 to find out more.

You will be informally assessed continuously throughout the year and will be required to take the AS and A2 Level examinations in May/June.

What will I be able to do after I've completed this course?

Apart from being beneficial at a personal level, your A Level in Arabic can help with several career paths, for example travel and tourism or teaching. The qualification can also be used to progress on to university.

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?

You will need to have a GCSE in Arabic at grade B or above, or experience of speaking and using Arabic at this level. In the latter case you will need to have an interview to assess your suitability to the course.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the Arabic course?

You will be awarded a GCE A Level in Arabic by Edexcel.
