This short course has been designed to upgrade both your knowledge and practical skills in the area of African type hairdressing.
Areas covered by the course include:
- Consultation procedure
- Application of relaxer
- Permanent curling and neutralising Afro type hair
- Health and safety
- Blow styling and finishing afro hair
- Styling African hair types using twisting and wrapping techniques
- Basic and advanced cutting technique
- Photographic evidence
To gain this qualification you will need to produce a portfolio of evidence, which will consist of two competent assessments for each element in the practical units and written answers and oral questions in theoretical components.
On completion of this course, students could go on to complete the NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing.
This course is designed for individuals who work in the European or African type hair industry or who hold a level 2 qualification in hairdressing.
This is a short course and does not lead to any formal qualifications.
