Meeting Your Learning Needs

The college is committed to promoting and supporting learning for each individual. A booklet entitled: ‘Meeting Your Learning Needs’ sets out the ways in which we can support you if you have a disability or learning difficulty. It will tell you who to contact, help guide you through the process of joining the college and explain the support we can offer. The key headings in this booklet are given below. For a copy of the full booklet, please contact any Reception and ask for this to be sent to you. It is available in different formats to ensure it is accessible. If you have a disability of any kind please let us know as soon as possible. We can then make any reasonable adjustments to support you in your time at college.

The Disability Equality Duty provides an important framework for achieving partnership between disabled people and public bodies to produce better services, careers, more inclusive environments and communities. In line with this legislation, The Manchester College has produced a Disability Equality Scheme (DES), which includes a three year implementation plan. We also seek to consult and include disabled staff and students in the implementation of the plan.

The Manchester College is an exciting place to study. We welcome all students regardless of gender, race, religion, age or disability and aim to be responsive and flexible in meeting people’s needs. You can read all about our courses in our adult and 16-19 learner prospectuses. We want you to be successful on your chosen course and to enjoy your time here. Come and talk to us and find out what we can do to support you in achieving your educational and personal goals. We look forward to meeting you at any point in the year.
